LHYC Historical Foundation
The Lake Hopatcong Yacht Club clubhouse, completed in 1910, is the last of many large wooden structures built on the lake during the “resort era”, which included many hotels, clubs, and large estates. The clubhouse has been named to the New Jersey and National Registers of Historic Places. The LHYC Historical Foundation is a 501(c)3 charitable foundation supporting the maintenance and renovation of our historic clubhouse. Our foundation status allows for tax deductible contributions to the foundation for that purpose. Recent major repairs and renovations supported in part by the foundation include rehabilitation of the veranda support structure, electrical upgrades, and renovation of the east end of the clubhouse, aligning that area with the historic architecture of the main clubhouse. LHYC sponsors community events and other public programs, as well as tours of our historic building as part of our community outreach in honoring the history of the building and the lake area.
