The Lake Hopatcong Yacht
Club is a private club located in northwestern New Jersey, on the state's
largest lake. The club was founded in 1905, and our current clubhouse
dates to 1910. The clubhouse was built in the Adirondack style, using
local logs, and is on the National and New Jersey registers of historic place.
The club is run by its
members for its members. The club features an active sailing and social
schedule, with an emphasis on activities for the entire family. The club's
sailing program includes a junior sailing instructional and racing program, as
well as one-design racing in four fleets. The club has an excellent youth
program, called "The Juniors", and many social affairs for young and old alike.
Our instruction programs are open to the public. Non-members are also
allowed to crew for members in fleet racing. The social schedule includes
a variety of Saturday night functions throughout the Spring and Summer.
The club also has weekday dining for members on the porch overlooking Lake
Hopatcong. For information on membership, please click on the button

The club is very proud of
its historical status. Much effort has been made to maintain the club in
its original state, while serving an active membership. The LHYC
Historical Foundation has been formed to support the maintenance and restoration
of our historical building.
