The
LHYC Back-to-School Regatta is a regatta for all
levels of junior sailors, featuring a novice fleet, three age group
fleets, and a Laser Radial fleet. All sailing is done within
viewing of the LHYC docks, although we also offer launching for
coach and spectator boats, and have some availability on our own
spectator fleet. Racing includes six races with a throw-out.
We also have a pizza lunch, with a barbecue following racing.
Trophies are awarded 1-5 for each fleet, and there is a prize
raffle for those who do not win trophies. Each contestant
receives a
T-Shirt. LHYC is conveniently located 40 miles directly west of New
York City. The regatta typically attracts a wide range of sailors
from all over the Northeast, averaging 90-110 boats.
